I have fished with Fred for at least the last three years. All the trips I've taken have been from November - February. Previous to meeting Fred my Winter steelheading experience while fun was not to productive. My last trip with Fred was on November 30, 2005 and we had an awesome day. Seven steelhead were netted, pictures were taken and the fish were released to fight another day. The beauty of the Muskegon River in the winter is unsurpassed and the bonus of catching fish, and eating well makes each trip with Fred a memorable one. I have fished with guides from Fl to Alaska. By far the best fishing is in my home state on the Muskegon or the PM River with the best guide Fred. I fish for steelhead in the spring and fall of each year. I have brought friends from MD, OH, IN and MI along on several occasions. By far Fred outclasses all other guides. A day on the river with Fred is like a week off -- he always has first class equipment from the boat to poles to the correct fly which is always at hand. I have always felt he is a guide because he wants you to have fun and catch fish. I will be back in the spring.

I’m part of a group of 8 that has been coming up to the PM for over 10 years to fish for Steelies in the spring and Salmon in the fall. To us the PM is simply the best river in the Midwest.
